This book piqued my interest as I recall seeing a few episodes of the show that featured weight loss surgeon Dr. Nowzaradan. This book is really full of information and context. While have a positive attitude and all the rest of the dieting specific information is ok, I like the fact it is so in-depth including a 365 day plan.

As with any diet, it is always a good idea to talk to your physician before starting one. However, apart from the calorie restrictions, the recipes for weight control/loss are easy to follow and use everyday ingredients. I am looking forward to trying them. I also appreciate the one-year meal plan provided—it makes meal planning so much easier and more nutritious.

I have always been curious what The Dr. now diet would really look like, as it is only 1200 calories. The information is ok, but sometimes the same snippet of information is used in other parts of the book. One example is “liver shrinkage” which is renamed “liver size reduction”, and used in a few spots in the book. I was disappointed that the recipes did not have any pictures with them. We eat first with our eyes, so I want to see what it looks like to have any interest in creating the recipes. Food is expensive, especially healthy food, so maybe take some photos and add to the book.
